IOR-Only is designed for brands that already have a Japanese warehouse, 3PL partner, or B2B delivery destination. Goods are cleared through customs under JMG's name, then delivered directly to your specified Japan address — no JMG warehousing or fulfillment included.

How is IOR-Only different from Starter?
▼IOR-Only covers customs clearance and compliance representation only. Goods are delivered directly to your designated Japan address (your own warehouse, 3PL partner, or B2B customer) — JMG does not warehouse or fulfill orders to end customers. It's ideal for brands that already have domestic logistics in place and just need a legal importer.
Do I still pay monthly on IOR-Only if no shipments arrive?
▼Yes. The ¥38,000 monthly fee covers ongoing IOR registration maintenance, continued legal liability representation, customs authority correspondence capacity, and compliance updates — costs we incur whether or not clearance events occur in a given month.
What if I need short-term storage on IOR-Only?
▼We offer optional pallet storage with volume-tiered pricing (1 pallet = W110 × D110 × H150cm):
- · 1–3 pallets: ¥8,000 each
- · 4–10 pallets: ¥7,000 each
- · 11+ pallets: ¥6,000 each
Handling (in/out movements) is free up to 4 per pallet per month. Pay only for the pallets you use — no minimum commitment. If you're consistently using 5+ pallets long-term, the Starter plan may be more cost-effective.
Can I upgrade from IOR-Only to a plan with warehousing?
▼Yes. Upgrade to Starter, Growth, or Scale at any time — mid-month upgrades are prorated. Downgrading requires 30 days' notice.
What does Importer of Record (IOR) mean?
▼IOR means JMG legally assumes responsibility for your goods at the Japanese border — customs declarations, compliance documentation, and import duties are handled in our name. You don't need a Japanese legal entity to import.
Are there setup or onboarding fees?
▼No setup fee for IOR-Only, Starter, or Growth. Scale plans have a one-time onboarding fee of ¥50,000 — waived for annual contracts.
